Eric Wayne Houser, 37, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at 8:50 P.M. on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
Eric was born on August 21, 1976 in Centralia, Illinois the son of Mark and Deborah (Borowiak) Houser.
Surviving family members include his mother and stepfather: Debbie Houser Roeder and Derrell Roeder of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; grandmother: Barbara Martin of Sandoval, Illinois; son: Tristan Houser of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; brother: Bryan Houser of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; sister: Chandra Lancia and husband John of Chesterfield, Missouri; nephews: Trevor Houser and Joseph Houser; nieces: Madison Houser, Sofia Lancia, Gianna Lancia and Isabella Lancia; special friends: Tess Barnett, Dustin Barnett and Lyla Barnett all of Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
His father, grandfather and one nephew: Wesley Houser preceded him in death.
Eric was self-employed carpenter, a builder and designer of several projects in Mt. Vernon including Rare Chop House, Headpieces by Toni, he redesigned the old pool hall in Mt. Vernon and the National Railway Equipment business offices (former location of the Bank of Illinois) and he designed the Girl Scout House in Centralia. He was also maintenance manager for Farrar and Federici families, and a member of Mt. Vernon Gun and Sportsman Club, was an avid outdoorsman; he loved camping, kayaking and his dog, "Kaya".
